Four people died in a fire that occurred Tuesday at a facility operated by Indian state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC), Kallanish Energy learns.
Three individuals were fire personnel of the police arm of the Central Industrial Security Force, while the fourth person was a resident production superintendent at the Uran Plant in Mumbai.
The incident was reported at 6 a.m. in the morning and was completely extinguished three hours later.
Oil processing wasn’t impacted while gas was diverted to the nearby Hazira Plant, also operated by ONGC, to ensure supply.
ONGC said there were no shortages as it was supplying 70.6 million cubic feet per day (Mmcf/d) to distribution company Mahanagar Gas, more than the average required supply of between 63.5 Mmcf/d and 67.0 Mmcf/d.
