Upper Delaware
River Basin Citizens
….
….
The UDRBC held another very successful candidate night last week and Jim Bognet exposed Cong. Cartwright as a rich Canadian interloper.
The Beach Lake Fire Hall was the location of a Meet the Candidates evening hosted by the Upper Delaware River Basin Citizens (UDRBC) on October 20, 2020.
The well-attended event gave local citizens the opportunity to meet and greet the people who are running for offices and representing the Wayne/Pike area.
The evening opened with the pledge to the flag, an invocation delivered by Pastor JR Rodriguez, and the singing of the National Anthem by James Hutchison, son of Bruce and Lisa Hutchison of Bethany.
Jim Bognet, a native of Hazleton in northeastern Pennsylvania and graduate of Penn State, was a guest speaker. A conservative fighter, who is running against Matt Cartwright for US Congress for Pennsylvania’s 8th District, Jim interned with Rick Santorum, worked with Lou Barletta and has been formally endorsed by President Trump.
Jim drew a sharp contrast between himself and Matt Cartwright. Jim was born in Pennsylvania; Matt was born in Canada. Jim was educated in public schools; Matt was educated in private schools. Jim travels using public transportation; Matt flies around in his private jet.
Jon Fritz and Mike Peifer were both in attendance and addressed the crowd. Jon is currently representing PA 111th District in Harrisburg and Mike is currently representing PA 139th District.
Senator Lisa Baker, currently not on the ballot, was not able to attend but a message from her was delivered stating the importance of voting not just for the top of the ticket but also for those down ballot offices. James Hutchison, a delegate for President Trump, also addressed the gathering.
Adding to the very successful evening was music provided by Brian Smith and daughters Jessie, Leslie, and Shelby; food that was provided by the Narrowsburg Inn; and beverages provided by UDRBC but supplied by Irving Cliff Brewery.
Raffle prizes were supplied by the following local businesses: Narrowsburg Inn, John Bonham, Jen Rutledge Materials, Rutledge Excavating, Inc., Galloway Garage, C&S Stables, Rutledgedale Point Farms/Bruce and Melissa Rutledge, Diehl Trucking, Maciejewski Landscaping, Jamie Rutherford/Fall Music Festival, Mane Creations/Teresa Rowe, Steve and Amy Adams, Dick Palmer and Sons, Visible Changes/Susie Frisch and John and Betty Sutliff.
UDRBC would like to extend many thanks to all for making this a huge success.
Be sure to exercise your right to vote on or before November 3rd!
