Screw and barrel maker Reiloy USA to expand in Kansas

Screw and barrel maker Reiloy USA plans to invest more than $20 million in a new manufacturing plant in Maize, Kan., and hire 39 employees over five years, according to a report in the Wichita Business Journal.

Reiloy already employs 68 in its headquarters in the same industrial park.

Reiloy USA is part of German machinery manufacturer Reifenhäuser Group.

The newspaper said the new building will be on a 13-acre site, near the current headquarters plant in Maize Industrial Park.

In 2012, Reifenhäuser bought Westland Corp. of Wichita, Kan., and the company later built the 55,000-square-foot headquarters factory in Maize. Reifenhäuser, which is based in Troisdorf, Germany, also runs the Reifenhäuser Reiloy operation in Troisdorf, which turns out more than 20,000 screws and barrels per year.
