Both Ohio oil and natural gas production dipped during the second quarter, according to a new Utica Shale production report filed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, according to Kallanish Energy.
Natural gas production dropped 2.1%, while oil production fell by 11.97% from the first quarter of 2020.
Natural gas production totaled 569.4 billion cubic feet during the second quarter — a drop of 12.2 billion from 581.6 billion cubic feet in the first quarter. Compared to the same quarter in 2019, gas production saw a drop of 44.8 billion cubic feet or 7.3%.
Oil production dropped by 704,551 barrels from 5,887,032 barrels in Q1 2020 to 5,182,481 barrels of oil in Q2 2020. Compared to the same period a year prior, oil production decreased by 631,274 barrels of oil or 10.9%.
