Thirteen new permits to drill in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays were issued in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week of June 21-27, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Nine new permits were issued in Pennsylvania with all but one on the same well pad in Greene County.
Ohio issued three new permits with two of three on the same well pad in Monroe County. All three permits were issued to Diversified Production LLC, a subsidiary of Alliance Petroleum.
West Virginia issued one new permit to Phoenix Energy Resources LLC.
