According to recent data from the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel, around 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas per week was flowing westward, primarily through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline in Germany. As such, Russia remains the third most important gas supplier for Europeans. Around one-fifth of the natural gas consumed and stored here comes from Putin’s empire. Currently, Europe’s largest supplier of natural gas in Norway.
The numbers are problematic in two different ways. First, they show that Europe’s gas purchases continue to fill the Kremlin’s war chest. Second, they also run counter to EU Vice President Frans Timmermans’ promise to reduce purchases from Russia by two-thirds by the end of the year…
The replacement of Russian gas with liquefied natural gas is also proving problematic. The EU has signed several new contracts with liquefied gas suppliers in the United States, North Africa and Central Asia, and there is talk of “imports at record levels.” But the EU has been overwhelmed by the task of figuring out how to distribute the delivered fuel volumes across the continent.
Spain, for example, is connected by pipeline to North Africa and has six fully equipped coastal terminals where liquefied natural gas could be delivered from around the world. But only small quantities can flow from the Iberian Peninsula to Northern Europe, partly because France has been blocking the construction of a pipeline across the Pyrenees Mountains for years. To this day, the government in Paris refuses to grant its approval for the project.
The Russian bear is rampaging because of stupid green energy tricks played by Germany, and French pipeline obstruction but Joe Biden wants us to implement our own Energiewende and kill pipelines here, too.

So well stated and 100% accurate:
No, you can’t run a nation on solar and wind. But the people in charge of the power and the money want to pretend otherwise.
The ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) movement has become the perfect instrument for the cartelization of our ruling class, and it continues to prevent outsiders from challenging the regime-connected insiders in Wall Street and Washington, D.C.
The “green transition” is the favored slogan for the ESG mafia to continue vacuuming up power and influence, while making it virtually impossible for non-conforming individuals and businesses in America to deploy their capital successfully.
BlackRock: Entrance to the Empire’s Den
Enormously powerful, regime-connected institutions like Blackrock and Vanguard, with a combined $18 trillion dollars in assets under management, continue to appeal to the carbon scam, because it forces compliance under the guise of “saving the earth.”
Nobody in these institutions — or, on the government side of things, the handful of somewhat serious level headed individuals who work in the Biden Administration — actually believe in the climate hoax, but they are happy to deploy it as a political weapon to protect the ruling class. Susan Rice doesn’t believe in the climate hoax. Larry Fink doesn’t believe in the climate hoax. It’s all a giant boondoggle to protect their interests.
No, it’s not true believers who are the real problem. Their faith in environmentalism is a substitute for religion, with global warming as the devil’s handiwork and themselves in the role of warrior angels. The real problem is nothing more than the old-fashioned greed of the rich and powerful who seek still more power and wealth and throw dollars at the useful idiot true believers who will blindly steer things in directions sought by the former. Meanwhile, the latter suppose they’re serving their deity.
This is why appeasement on ESG and trying to convince believers their cause is based on faulty premises are largely wasted efforts. True believers must come to their conclusions on their own and attacking their faith isn’t going to do it, but they can shown many of the institutions they trusted are hopelessly corrupt (e.g., the World Economic Forum) and this has the potential to unite people of disparate views.

Stop Frying Our Farmland and Making It Blow Away!
New Yorkers, are you paying attention?
A bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) targets federal subsidies for renewable energy by banning taxpayer funding for the conversion of working farms to industrial-scale wind and solar power-generating facilities.
HR 6857, the Future Agriculture Retention and Management Act (FARM Act) would “amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that the energy credit shall not apply to certain types of energy production on agricultural land, and for other purposes.”
Tiffany’s bill would not bar developers from putting wind turbines and solar-panel arrays on the land of farmers willing to host the facilities, but would end taxpayer subsidies for farmland conversions…
Cornell University farmland converted to solar in New York
Tiffany represents the predominantly rural 7th district, covering northwestern and central Wisconsin.
Agriculture is a major industry and employer in the district, where 60 percent of the farmland is used for crop production and thousands of additional acres serve as dairy farms.
Transforming productive farmland into vast industrial solar and wind facilities with taxpayer support is a bad bargain, putting American farmers and consumers at risk, Tiffany told Environment & Climate News…
There is a price to be paid for states that become too reliant on intermittent wind and solar power, says Bill Balgord, Ph.D., president of Middleton, Wisconsin based Environmental Resource & Technology.
“Texas, in 2011 and again in 2021, suffered severe brownouts and blackouts caused in part by its growing dependence on wind power,” said Balgord. “Its isolated grid was no match for severe cold snaps that stilled its growing number of wind turbines precisely at a time when demand for electricity for households and businesses was greatest. States like Wisconsin should take heed to the problems attending overdependence on wind and solar power that don’t deliver in the crunch.”
Well said. This is an issue being completely ignored by states who enact all kinds of measures to “protect farmland” only to simultaneously fund its destruction. You can drill for natural gas and run natural gas pipelines through farmland and still use it, though.

Obama Goes Fossil Fuels
As Minions Tell Biden to Make Then Unavailable to Us
Remember, as you read this, that hypocrisy is a virtue with elites as it demonstrates their specialness. Remember, too, that propane is typically produced using natural gas.
In the latest display of elite hypocrisy, former president, climate change scaremonger and green energy promoter Barack Obama is installing three propane tanks at his $12 million Martha’s Vineyard property—with a whopping 2,500 gallons of storage capacity.
Earlier this month, the town of Edgartown, Massachusetts received an application for an underground propane tank installation at Obama’s estate, consisting of two 1,000 gallon-tanks and one 500-gallon tank, to be used for “residential purposes.”
