Natural Gas Now Best Picks – July 1, 2023

Readers pass along a lot of stuff every week about natural gas, fractivist antics, emissions, renewables, and other news relating to energy.

This week: Sweden again bucks PC, solar threatens water sources, pizza perils and helicopter pilots threatened by wind as natural gas alternatives are exposed.

Look for these stories below, including links to the original articles!

Sweden Bucks PC Again!

Europe is ever so gradually, and not so gradually in the case of Sweden, moving away from the corporatist U.N, and WEF energy agenda of green eggs and scam:

Sweden has just dealt a severe blow to the globalist climate agenda by scraping its green energy targets.

In a statement announcing the new policy in the Swedish Parliament, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson warned that the Scandinavian nation needs “a stable energy system.”

Svantesson asserted that wind and solar power are too “unstable” to meet the nation’s energy requirements.

Instead, the Swedish Government is shifting back to nuclear power and has ditched its targets for a “100% renewable energy” supply….

In “substantial industrialized economies… only a gas to the nuclear pathway is viable to remain industrialized and competitive,” Svantesson noted.

It’s not so surprising, really, of course. Sweden was just about the only nation in the world to keep its head during the COVID madness. It rejected the lockdown (the “we’ll control every breath you take to save you,”) strategy. The Swedes gave the Heisman to Fauci types and old Klaus the Teutonic megalomaniac. And, they appears to be doing so again by admitting only natural gas and nuclear are truly practical. There are still those willing to speak truth to global elites

What? Solar Development Drying Up California Water Sources?

What can’t alternatives to natural gas do?

Massive solar development projects in Southern California have strained local water availability, threatening desert ecosystems and angering residents who have been impacted by the strain on the water supply, according to an Inside Climate News report.

The small communities around Desert Center, California, depend on naturally-occurring underground water reserves, known as groundwater aquifers, but the water-intensive development process for large solar projects has caused groundwater levels to fall, according to Inside Climate News. Crucial local water wells have dried up and land beneath homes has sagged as a result of development activity, while desert ecosystems have been damaged as well, according to Inside Climate News.

Once again, the intersectionality of environmental issues appears out of nowhere. Who knew going solar to save the planet would kill it?

Pizza, Pizza, Not!

Climate zealots who banned natural gas stoves and furnaces from most new buildings across the state, now want to end real New York style pizza as well.

Climate warriors in New York,

The New York Post reports new rules were drafted by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that could order nearly 1,700 pizzerias across five boroughs to reduce carbon emissions by 75%. One city official said about 100 pizzerias could be impacted.

“All New Yorkers deserve to breathe healthy air and wood and coal-fired stoves are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality,” DEP spokesman Ted Timbers wrote in a statement Sunday. He continued:

“This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible.”

The rule could require pizzerias with coal-and-wood-fired ovens built before 2016 to purchase emission-control scrubbers that cost tens of thousands of dollars to stay compliant…

Climate warriors aren’t just angering everyday people by banning gas stoves, but now they have pissed off NYC’s Little Italy. Their agenda to decarbonize the economy is hurting ordinary people while those who tout the environment on world stages fly in private jets and sail in superyachts.

Give a climate zealot an inch and an “environmental justice” mandate and they’re coming after you. There are none among them who don’t want to control every breath you take (or don’t). That and money are the two worms working their way through Western Civilization and eating what’s left of it.

Industrial Wind Facility Threatens Indiantown Gap Pilots!

As the Biden Administration and sellout Congress finance one green eggs and scam venture after another, it is becoming more and more clear that these alternatives to natural gas development have all sorts of impacts on eagles, whales and human beings.

A proposed wind farm has given rise to concerns by state military officials who say the windmills pose a threat to the safety of its training operations.

The windmills would be located within the buffer zone surrounding Ft. Indiantown Gap and lawmakers want to require permission from federal authorities before permits are granted to install them.

The project, known as Anthracite Ridge, would sit approximately 15 miles north of the military base and within its flight paths.

In a memorandum, Rep. Zachary Mako, R-Slatington, cited his experience as a helicopter pilot with the Pennsylvania National Guard, saying he has flown countless missions out of Fort Indiantown Gap, also known as “the Gap”.

Many people may be aware that the Gap serves as headquarters for the National Guard, he said, but it is perhaps less well known that it serves as a training facility for all branches of our nation’s armed forces, as well as law enforcement and homeland defense professionals.

The base hosts the Eastern Aviation Training School – one of only two aviation training centers for the Army and Air National Guard within the continental United States. In recent years, it has become the busiest National Guard training center in the country.

“The main concern is safety,” said Maj. Travis Mueller, Pennsylvania National Guard public affairs officer, in an email to The Center Square.

“The Pennsylvania National Guard values our partnerships with the local community and businesses that seek economic opportunities,” he said. “However, the proposed windmills would create less room for our helicopter crews to safely maneuver in the area and increase the risk of accidents.”

Mueller said their flight crews regularly conduct night-time operations, and the windmills would make already dangerous training even riskier.

We all know how this will turn out, don’t we? The rules that normally apply to wildlife protection and public safety will be waived for the corporatist boondoggle; just like the Feds waive the rules for wind projects that kills eagles and whales. Human beings, after all, are even less important to the climate zealots  And, do think Joe Biden, who threw soldiers out of the Army for lack of vaccinations will care about them now? Nothing must be allowed to come between your money in subsidies and the developers bank accounts.
