Ohio is now known for its Utica Shale natural gas, but a century ago there also was a leasing bonanza.

There are only a handful of natural gas wells in Huron County today, but Eastern Ohio produces very large volumes, as the following map indicates:

Hundreds of Miles of Welded Pipeline

Note how the Linde Gas company, which is still very active today, was involved in development of our critical pipeline infrastructure:
