The “Consumption Interventions” Mayors Have Planned for You!

[Editor’s Note: Is there any more devious, threatening, Orwellian term than the “consumption interventions,” the World Economic Forum and its big city partners want to impose?]
The photo accompanying this piece is a screen shot of the title page of this group’s “Healine Report” published in 2019 and re-emphasized this year. That re-emphasis is what led to the recent media stories about the program. And boy, what a program it is.
Regular readers and subscribers to my work here will know that I’ve written several times during 2023 about the very noticeable shift in the overarching narrative related to the energy transition that has taken place since January. That obviously intentional shift, well-coordinated with ever-cooperative legacy media platforms, has essentially ended the original narrative and replaced it with a new, less rosy one.
The previous narrative was the rank fantasy claiming that we can just do away with all high-energy-density fossil fuels and gas-powered cars and replace them with low-energy-density wind, solar and EVs, and do it all without you even noticing a difference in your daily lives as we create a beautiful, clean world filled with sweetness, light, rainbows and presumably Unicorns.
The narrative we’ve seen rising and now being pushed by our propaganda media this year was necessitated by the rising public dissatisfaction with the always-socialist public policies that are bankrupting the developed nations of the west while simultaneously causing massive increases in the cost of all forms of energy. This new narrative now tacitly admits the chosen alternatives won’t work as promised, but tells us we must accept them to “save the planet,” while also accepting we will have to live smaller, less mobil lives with far lower standards of living and endure not just the higher costs for energy but all manner of additional deprivations as well.
Reading this report makes it very clear that it is no accident that this C40 group decided to “re-emphasize” its “Headline Report” in the midst of this narrative-shifting year, because what this report amounts to is a roadmap/laundry list of the deprivations you are going to be demanded to endure to make this transition work.
Check out these screen shots of the report’s table of contents:
Note the repeated use of the Orwellian term, “Consumption Interventions.”
You know what this term means? It means “government-enforced deprivations.”
When your city’s mayor signed you up to participate in this program, they in fact signed you up to massively lower your current standards of living by accepting a vast list of such deprivations in the name of saving the planet. And if you do not happily accept your new lot in life, they will no doubt be happy to send the deprivation enforcement squad to your door to force the issue.
And if you don’t believe that is in fact the plan, you really do need to pay closer attention to what has been happening all around you in the name of “climate change” in recent years.
In Section 6, you can see a laundry list of the major categories of deprivations to which your mayors are committing in your name. Those categories include your housing, your electronics, your household appliances (already under assault by the Biden apparatchiks), all your city’s buildings and other infrastructure, your aviation usage, i.e., your travel habits, your clothing and even your food consumption.
Here is a sampling of just a few examples of the deprivation recommendations made in this report:
- a daily per person allowance of 44g of meat, which is similar to the content of 1/10th of a pound of ground beef;
- a daily limit of 2,500 calories, 500 calories less than the rationing enforced during WWII, a time of true emergency;
- one short haul flight (one that lasts less than 3 hours) every threeyears;
- eight new clothing items a year (think about that one, ladies and all you guys who go through more pairs of underwear than that every year); and
- only one in five people allowed to own private cars.
There is much, much more in this report, which you can read in full at this link if you can stomach doing so. This is what former Mayor Alder and current Mayor Turner have signed you Austinites and Houstonians up for.
Incidentally, in addition to Austin and Houston, a dozen other U.S. city mayors have committed their teeming masses to this program of mass deprivation.
Those U.S. cities are:
- Boston
- Chicago
- Phoenix
- Los Angeles
- Miami
- New Orleans
- New York City
- Philadelphia
- Portland
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- Washington, DC
Other than Miami, each and every one of those cities sports a Democrat mayor today. Shockingly, Miami Mayor Francisco Suarez agreed to sign his city up for this Orwellian program. No wonder his presidential campaign lasted about as long as dinner at the local Chili’s. Which, by the way, you will no longer be able to enjoy if this program goes into effect in your city.
Now you know what it means for your city to commit to being a C40 City. All you residents of these cities had best start communicating your displeasure with your mayors and other city officials soon, preferably today. Because if you think they’re just kidding around, boy are you in for a big surprise down the road.
Editor’s Note: If you had any doubts the Democrat Party has sold out the common man for the corporatists, that Joe Biden has been a loathsome disaster for our freedom and that big cities are but oceans of ignorance, this super article by David should have dispelled them. We are at war with a ruling class that hates us and intends on destroying us or, at the very least, shoving us into big city gulags where they can control our every move, spoken or written word, and thought.
