A Virginia legislator recently introduced a bill that may make it more difficult for the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) to complete construction, according to Kallanish Energy.
Delegate Chris Hurst, D-Montgomery presented a bill that would require that any project requiring 50 or more temporary workers during the coronavirus pandemic get additional state approval from the state commissioner of labor and industry before proceeding.
House Bill 5102 would also require an employer to participate in state programs to boost worker safety and health.
The bill could complicate MVP’s completion because it intends to hire 4,000 workers to complete the project.
