Two senior executives leave plastics association

Two senior executives at the Plastics Industry Association, heading up their trade show and communications efforts, have left the organization.

The association said in a July 1 statement that Brendan Thomas, its vice president of advocacy and voice, and Susan Krys, its vice president of trade shows, have left the Washington-based group.

“Brendan Thomas left the Plastics Industry Association this week,” it said. “We thank him for his contributions to our organization and wish him well in his future endeavors.

“Susan Krys submitted her resignation from the association to pursue other interests,” the group added. “We are thankful for her commitment to the association overall and to the NPE in particular.”

Krys joined the association in 2017 to oversee its events, including the mammoth NPE trade show that generates a significant amount of its operating revenues.

But the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced the group in January to cancel the NPE2021 show, which had been scheduled for May 17-21 in Florida. The next edition of NPE will be in 2024.

Thomas joined the association as head of its communications efforts in April 2020. He was part of new senior leadership brought in by President and CEO Tony Radoszewski, who took over in September 2019.
