Trump’s emergency executive order may help pipelines

President Donald Trump signed an executive order that waives requirements as part of the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act for new mines and pipelines, using an “emergency” declaration, according to OilPrice.com.

Trump sited the economic emergency stemming from the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic as a need for the executive order.

Without requiring compliance with the decades-old environmental processes, oil and gas companies may have an easier time breaking ground on their pipeline projects.
