Dogo-myeon, South Korea-based automotive interior parts supplier Jin-Tech Co. Ltd. has invested nearly $4.5 million in its first U.S. manufacturing facility in West Point, Ga., to serve its customers in the region.
The 45,000-square-foot facility houses injection molding and vacuum forming production lines, Karleigh Caudill, assistant human resources manager at JinTech America, told Plastics News in an email. It has been in full operation since September.
“JinTech is eager for further opportunities to become a more prominent global automotive supplier with this expansion to the United States,” Jinsik Son, JinTech America’s plant president, said in a news release.
The new facility is just eight miles from the sole U.S. manufacturing plant for one of JinTech’s largest customers, Kia Motors.
It will create a total of 70 jobs in the region, the release said.
