On Tuesday, Equitrans Midstream Corp. announced it still plans on completing the $5.4-$5.7 billion Mountain Valley natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia early next year, according to Reuters.
The company’s statement comes after a decision by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to issue a new Biological Opinion on Sept. 4, which the project requires to resume construction.
In addition to the recent approvals, Equitrans plans to receive the remaining approvals it needs from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers soon, so it will be able to finish building the last 8% of the project.
