Birmingham, Ala. — Homeland Vinyl Products Inc. will invest $2.2 million to add 38,000 square feet of production space and 55 employees for new fence, deck and rail extrusion and assembly capabilities in Surgoinsville, Tenn.
The expansion follows a 2017 addition of 50,000 square feet at the facility.
“We have had great success with our operations in Surgoinsville/Hawkins County. The community and business environment, along with our partnership with the Economic Development Authority, has allowed us to continue to growth at this location,” Homeland Vinyl CFO Scott Smith said in a news release.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s mission is attract new corporate investment to the state and work with companies to facilitate expansion and economic growth there.
“I am pleased that Homeland Vinyl has decided to continue to invest in Surgoinsville. This expansion is a sign of positive momentum for Hawkins County as we continue to safely get Tennesseans back to work and the economy thriving again,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said in the release.
Homeland Vinyl also has manufacturing plants in Millville, N.J.; Ogden, Utah; and Winter Park, Fla., in addition to Surgoinsville and its headquarters in Birmingham.
The company bought the Tennessee plant in 2015 while the previous occupant, automotive injection molder Engineering Plastics Components Inc., was phasing out its operations.
