Century Die Co., a manufacturer of blow molds in Fremont, Ohio, has won the American Mold Builders Association Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award for work in education and drawing young people to the industry.

AMBA presented the Tooling Trailblazer of the Year during the AMBA Conference, held May 8-10 in Itasca, Ill.

Century Die was recognized for its job shadowing program called Mold Maker Professional for a Day, which has involved more than 300 students in grades seven through 12 over the past six years. The toolmaker has made half a dozen hires as a result.

Century Die also participates in job fairs and does mock interviews at local high schools. The company also sponsors the Green Box Derby, where students compete for scholarships to Terra State Community College.
