Beckhoff Automation GmbH announced its 2018 financial results and announced an advance in machine learning for all areas of automation.
Beckhoff, based in Verl, Germany, generated global revenue of 916 million euros ($1 billion) in fiscal year 2018, a 13 percent increase from 2017.
Officials from Beckhoff credited innovative technology, greater production capacity and expansion of the company’s international sales network.
“With global sales totaling 916 million euros, we had another strong financial year in 2018,” said Managing Director Hans Beckhoff in a statement. “In line with this solid business growth, the company has built out capacity across all departments in terms of facility space as well as human resources, and now employs 4,300 people worldwide.”
Beckhoff said the company expanded production facilities by a total of 430,500 square feet in 2018 through a combination of new construction and buying additional plants.
“Our newly built electronics manufacturing facility, which provides 118,000 square feet of space, has doubled our primary production capacity,” he said.
The company’s goal is to grow by 15 percent each year, Beckhoff added.
In others news, Beckhoff Automation has announced a machine learning solution seamlessly integrated into its TwinCAT software, for machinery builders and manufacturers. It supports real time machine learning, allowing it to simultaneously handle demanding tasks like motion control.
