The PennEast Pipeline Co. recently announced it still anticipates putting the first phase of its natural gas pipeline in Pennsylvania in service in 2022 and completing the second phase, which stretches from Pennsylvania to New Jersey in 2024, according to Reuters.
PennEast is still involved in a case before the Supreme Court with New Jersey over whether it can seize state land under federal eminent domain rules to complete the $1.2 billion project.
Earlier this month, the Biden administration filed a brief with the Supreme Court that agreed with a filing by the Trump administration that urged the court to overturn a 2019 ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit that blocked the PennEast from using federal eminent domain to seize state land.
