Engie appoints Catherine MacGregor as new CEO

French energy company Engie appointed on Monday Catherine MacGregor as its new chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2021, Kallanish Energy reports.

MacGregor’s “industrial and international track record” will contribute towards the achievement of its strategic objectives that were laid out in July this year, Engie said in a statement.

This strategy included a refocus and accelerated investment in renewable energy and infrastructure assets, increasing the target for renewables capacity commissioned from the current 3 gigawatts (GW) per annum to 4 GW per annum on average “over the medium-term.”

MacGregor joins Engie from TechnipFMC Group, where she led the onshore and offshore engineering and construction activities as part of its executive committee since mid-2019.

Commenting on her appointment, the new CEO said: “On the strength of our shared industry culture and my operational experience, I will work with all of our teams to achieve our goal of enabling Engie to accelerate the energy transition.”
