Plastics Caps & Closures Conference switching to virtual format

DetroitPlastics News will transition its annual Plastics Caps & Closures Conference to a virtual format, running Sept. 21-25 and featuring nearly 25 speakers.

The event will include 15 virtual sessions.

The conference had been scheduled to take place Sept. 21-23 in Schaumburg, Ill., but is transitioning to a virtual schedule in light of health concerns and travel restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual format will expand the event’s reach to a global audience.

Highlights include:

• Keynote address from Peter Clarke, called “the packaging design guru” by Brandweek magazine and the founder and CEO of Product Ventures, a Fairfield, Conn.-based product and packaging design firm.

• Panel discussions on recycling, tethered closures and sustainable brand packaging.

• A special panel featuring finalists for Plastics News‘ Plastics Caps & Closures Innovation Award.

• Five “Ask the Expert” livestreams.

• A new matchmaking service to allow attendees to meet potential clients.
