Oden Technologies Inc., a supplier of industrial automation, predictive analytics, and process monitoring and data integration systems, wants to build relationships with plastics machinery manufacturers — and the company has appointed machinery veteran Steve Braig to lead the effort.
“Using Oden’s platform, machine makers can provide their customers with real-time alerts and fix equipment before it fails, effectively eliminating unplanned downtime,” Braig said. “Manufacturers will benefit from the option to outsource the maintenance and repair of their assets to the equipment maker, reducing their MRO costs and increasing machine availability.”
New York-based Oden named Braig as vice president of business development to launch the program globally. Braig is the former top executive of Engel Machinery Inc. and Trexel Inc. He also was CEO of Prophecy Sensorlytics, an equipment failure-predicting sensor company run by Novatec Inc.
“The goal of the program is to enable equipment manufacturers to leverage Oden’s [internet of things] technology infrastructure and out Industry 4.0 expertise, and immediately begin adding value for their customers,’ said Willem Sundblad, co-founder and CEO of Oden Technologies.
Oden’s cloud-based technology gives real-time, data-driven information. Oden also offers a machine learning and artificial intelligence framework for manufacturing, to avoid machine failures, eliminate waste and optimize production in real-time, company officials said.
Braig said Oden’s platform, which spans both hardware and software, offers equipment manufacturers easy-to-install wireless Internet of Things devices and a production-ready, intelligent industrial automation platform.
Braig continues to run his own consulting firm, Eventus Global LLC in Reisterstown, Md., north of Baltimore.
Oden Technologies also had beefed up its executive ranks, naming Sam Cessna as chief revenue officer. He will lead the commercial teams and oversee the company’s expansion into new manufacturing sectors and expand its operations into Asia and Europe.
Cessna joins Oden from PTC, where he was responsible for launching ThingWorx, an internet of things platform for the development and deployment of smart, connected devices.
“What attracted me to Oden Technologies is its ground-breaking approach to industrial automation,” Cessna said.
