By the end of April, Wittmann Battenfeld France SAS will move to a newly constructed building in La Buisse, about five kilometers from the firm’s present location in Moirans, France.

Wittmann Group has been active in the French market with its own subsidiary since 1996. The original product portfolio included robots and automation with temperature control and bulk material technology. In 2000, the company bought granulator producer CMB, of Oyonnax, and integrated it into the Wittmann Group.

Wittmann Battenfeld France established itself as a specialist for automation, in-mold labeling and auxiliary equipment. Then in 2008, when Wittmann Group bought the Battenfeld injection molding machinery business, the French operation added injection presses and complex production cells.

The 53,820-square-foot La Buisse facility houses offices, training and conference erooms and a showroom, plus warehouse space. Granulators are manufactured in a production hall.

Wittmann Battenfeld invested more than 5 million euros ($5.6 million). The French operation employs 70 people.
